The Piggy Squire was born from Matt Squire's lifelong passion for quality local produce and real food. Matt's ability to hold an hour long conversation with friends over the virtue of outdoor reared as opposed to factory farmed pork is a great example of this. Some people would say passionate, some might say eccentric and some friends do say plain boring! Quality means everything to Matt and The Piggy Squire, and we are delighted to have been awarded five stars in the 'Scores on the Doors' Food Hygene Ratings for 2017.
In truth finding the right suppliers has been a long journey but we got there in the end. So many profess to supplying the best this and the best that but very rarely deliver the results.
We have learnt over the years that very best way to buy the very be meat is direct from the producer. We now source 98% of our meat direct from two small farms. We must have the shortest supply chain possible. We pick up the phone speak to the farmers (Kevin or Christopher). They then deliver the meat that they have reared on their farm for us to cook for you. Simple is best.
We�re passionate about keeping everything local, but only if it's good enough. Local doesn�t always mean good.!
